Applicant Risk Profiler

Proven protection from on-the-job violence, theft, and risk

Each year businesses lose $120 billion due to workplace violence and on-the-job substance abuse and theft. Hiring decisions clearly affect the success and safety of companies.

The new Applicant Risk Profiler (ARP) helps organizations make better, more informed hiring decisions. The ARP detects applicants’ attitudes about behavior that may pose a risk in the workplace. Quick and cost-effective, it tells you whether an individual is likely to steal from the company, engage in activities without approval, work under the influence of illegal drugs, disobey company rules, or engage in aggressive behavior.

Composed of 65 questions, the ARP includes the following scales:

Integrity
Illegal Drug-Use Attitudes
Aggressive Tendencies
Willingness to Comply With Company Policy
Deception (a response validity measure)

Administered in just 20 to 25 minutes, the ARP is an excellent way to determine which applicants are potential risks to supervisors, co-workers, or the company in general. It is non-threatening and therefore very useful as an interviewing, as well as a screening, tool. The applicant’s responses can be used to generate follow-up questions that further clarify behavioral tendencies.

Canadian customers note: this test cannot be used in Canada due to Human Right legislation prohibitions on pre-screening based on drug usage.
