The CAB test is a series of tests designed to measure abilities relevant to job performance, such as verbal, numerical, auditory, spatial, clerical speed, reasoning and memory. It measures abilities that are pertinent to a particular job (e.g. auditory ability for customer service staff). The CAB test can measure 20 different ability factors that are important in industrial settings and career and vocational settings and career and vocational counselling. It helps select the best candidate for the position, based on his or her ability to perform the relevant skills. |

The five batteries are:
|
Comprehensive Ability Battery: verbal ability, numerical ability, spatial ability, perceptual completion. |

Comprehensive Ability Battery 2: clerical speed and accuracy, reasoning, hidden shapes, rote memory, mechanical knowledge. |
|
Comprehensive Ability Batteries 3 & 4: meaningful memory, memory span (requires audio cassette), spelling, auditory ability (requires audio cassette), esthetic judgement. |

Comprehensive Ability Battery 5: organizing ideas, production of ideas, verbal fluency, originality, tracking, drawing. |
