Management Success Profile™
The MSP assessment is designed to help you determine whether a candidate has the ability to lead and coach others, adapt easily to change, identify training needs of current managers and improve cooperation among departments. A candidate who possesses these attitudes will generally be more suited for a management position. This is an un-timed, paper-and-pencil test. Validation studies have been conducted for the MSP test and generic norms are available for all industries. As with any testing instrument, however, this should be used in conjunction with other standard evaluation methods such as interviews and reference checks.

The MSP measures the following scales:

Experience: actual management-related education and training.

Leadership; interest, attitudes and behaviours in management and supervisory positions.

Coaching: working to improve the performance of others through specific performance feedback.

Adaptability: acceptance of change and the willingness to learn.

Management Responsibility: the extent to which a candidate is in control of his/her performance.

Practical Thinking: open minded individuals who are able to clearly think through problems.

Customer Service Orientation: courteous, cooperative and friendly attitudes towards customers.

Productivity: dependable and strong work habits that lead to the organization and completion of projects.

Job Commitment: work values that increase the chance of long-term employment.

Business Ethics: attitude toward upholding ethical business standards and practices.

Validity/Candidness: the extent to which a candidate responded to the inventory in a socially desirable manner.

Validity/Accuracy: the degree to which a candidate understood and carefully completed the inventory.

The MSP is an inexpensive, yet accurate and reliable way to pre-screen candidates for promotion.
