The Posttraumatic Stress Diagnostic Scale (PDS™)
Ages: 17–65

Administration: Self-report

Administration Time: 10 to 15 minutes (49 items)

Key Areas Measured:

The Posttraumatic Stress Diagnostic Scale™ (PDS™) is a brief screening and diagnostic instrument that helps assess the presence and symptom severity of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It parallels DSM-IV™ criteria for a PTSD diagnosis and may be administered repeatedly over time to help monitor changes in symptoms.

PDS can be given by qualified psychologists, social workers, and counsellors in a variety of settings where they treat people who may have been victims of a traumatic event.

The Profile report is designed to provide objective, easy-to-read documentation about the presence and severity of PTSD symptoms. The report also documents whether or not a person is experiencing any functional impairment as a result of their symptoms. All the information in the report can be easily built into a treatment plan and communicated as needed.
