The PipeTest is for use in selecting journey-level Plumbers & Pipe fitters who have knowledge in the following areas: Piping, Plumbing, & Combustion; Pumps; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Burning, Soldering & Fabrication; Print Reading; Rigging; Mathematics & Layout; and Mechanical Maintenance and Tools, Materials & Equipment.

The PipeTest contains 60 items in a multiple-choice format. In a group of 40 candidates, reliability was 0.90 with a mean score of 32.58, standard deviation of 9.97, and a standard error of measurement of 3.15.
