Give your professionals the feedback they need. Use the Competency Behaviour Inventory (CBI) to assess and develop your individual contributors. Based on research from numerous organizations this tool measures those competencies that differentiate outstanding from typical professionals.

They are organized into four key areas:

  • Individual excellence – meeting others’ needs with confidence and drive
  • Solving problems – making the most of critical information
  • Leading others – managing, developing and directing others with integrity
  • Working with others – interacting with others with tact, empathy and impact.

The CBI is best used with individual contributors and professionals. However it can also be used with supervisors and managers to provide feedback for long-term development. It assesses 15 competencies, measuring effectiveness in a wide variety of roles, and indicates specific target levels to highlight professional contributors’ strengths.

The Competency Behavior Inventory is a 360º tool that measures 15 competencies related to effectiveness in a wide variety of roles.

Respondents rate the individuals on specific behaviors associated with each competency. They also have the opportunity to provide Verbatim comments on strengths and areas to develop. Feedback is provided in a simple format on how consistently the individual demonstrates the competency behaviors. This tool is best used with individual contributors and professionals. However it can also be used with supervisors and manager populations to provide feedback for long-term development.
